Book Reading for December

Hello fellow readers,

I hope we are all doing good and looking forward to concluding the year strong by God's grace.

The book we will be consuming for the next few weeks, the month of December is called:

When God winks by Squire Rushnell.

Brief introduction

You may have suspected all along that there is more to coincidence than meets the eye. These seemingly random events are actually signposts that can help you successfully navigate your career, relationships, and interests. SQuire Rushnell shows us that by recognizing our "God
winks" we can use the untapped power of coincidence to vastly improve our lives.

We will be reading these two books from 13/12/08 to 31/12/2008.

Happy reading and learning and I look forward to all your comments.

Book Reading for November

Hello fellow book readers,

How are we all, I bet we are all still hyper from the awesome day in History - November 4th. I pray God uses President Barack Obama for his glory, and that the impact of the impending changes to come will be felt across the whole world.

Books we will be consuming

Following the feel of season we are in and the theme of hope and faith, we will be reading these books for the month of November.

First Book
Dare to Dream . . . Then Do It: What Successful People Know and Do by by John C. Maxwell.

Everybody has dreams. They're part of what makes us uniquely us. But not everybody knows how to make their dreams come true. Learn to awaken your dreams and make them come true, to impact this and generations to come.

Second book
Next Generation Leader by Andy Stanley.
We must remember that the start of change we see today is as a result of the seeds and solid foundations our ancestors planted; through tedious training, hard work, working in hope and faith that it will impact theirs and future generations (us).

And so, for the benefit of the next generation, guess what?

Ready or not, we are NEXT!

It’s time to shape the future, and those who will do so are in training today. Learn what it takes to lead with courage, then follow with character. Embrace the basics, and you’ll master the challenges of generations to come.

We will be reading these two books from today 06/11/08 to 04/12/2008.

Happy reading and learning and I look forward to all your comments.
Kind Regards

Book Reading for October

Hello fellow readers,

Thank you to those that put forward book suggestions for this month's reading.

Following on from last month's theme, we again have two small and easy books to read this month.
The first book is THE ALCHEMIST, by Paulo Coelho. This book has been around for a while and a good oldie. It talks about having a dream, but more importantly, working to bring it to reality. I believe this will be an interesting and inspiring read.

The second book is called The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne. It's a book about simple things we all know, but sometimes need reminding of. Such things as, whatever you desire or want to be, starts with a dream and then followed by action.

Reading Timelines:

We will be consuming these books between 09/10 to 31/10/ 2008.

Happy reading and expansion of the mind and I look forward to your review comments.

Regards

October Book Reading Suggestions and Timelines

Hello fellow book worms,

Welcome to the month of October. I pray it is all that you pray and hope it to be.

So, what did you think of the books selected for September?

I thought the "Money Secret" is so relevant for this season we are in. It teaches us how to get ourselves out of debt, if we are in it, and how to live within our means.

But more importantly, it teaches us the plots society uses to try and suck us into the never ending debt whirlpool and keep us there.

I also thought the "Richest man in Babylon" portrayed and taught, simple, yet profound foundation skills, thinking and insight on how to build wealth, with what we have and from where we currently are in life.

October Reading - Book suggestions and Timelines
The forum is now open for us all to put forward reading suggestions for the month of October.

The timelines for this month is as follows:

01/10 to 08/10
We will be putting forward SUGGESTIONS and making DECISIONS on the book(s) to read this month. Remember the book that gets the most suggestions, wins.

09/10 to 31/10
We will be engrossed in the books we have chosen for this month.

I look forward to your suggestions and review comments from September's reading.

Happy reading.

Reading so far...

Hello bookworms,

I hope you are all enjoying the books chosen for this month

I must say, the books seem very relevant to our present day lives, especially now the government and whoever has a voice, seem to be calling upon the wrath of the gods of credit crunch and all sorts of financial and wealth crisis!

It is good, in the midst of it all, to hear and read a voice of reason and wisdom to help us along as we strive to avoid the economic portholes littering our way.

Happy reading.

Book Reading for September

Hello fellow readers,

The reading for this month consists of two very light but extremely useful and enriching books.

First Read: The Money Secret by Rob Parsons

A brief introduction:
In this practical and life-changing book, Rob Parsons takes a look at one of the most pressing modern crises - living with unmanageable debt. In a hard-hitting but supportive way, he gives help, not just in climbing out, but also in understanding what it is that encourages people to live on credit. You will treasure this wisdom long after you have finished the last page. If you are in debt it will help you out, if you are financially secure it will help you be wise with your money, and if you feel that nobody could understand the sheer loneliness of financial pressure, then ‘The Money Secret’ will become your friend.

Second Read: The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. CLASON

A brief Introduction:
Beloved by millions, this timeless classic holds the key to all you desire and everything you wish to accomplish. This is the book that reveals the secret to personal wealth. Countless readers have been helped by the famous "Babylon parables", hailed as the greatest of all inspirational works on the subject of thrift, financial planning, and personal wealth.
In a language as simple as that found in the Bible, these fascinating and informative stories set you on a sure path to prosperity and it's accompanying joys.
Acclaimed as a modern day classic, this celebrated best seller offers an understanding of - and a solution to - your personal financial problems that will guide you through a lifetime.
This is the book that holds the secret to acquiring money, keeping money and making money earn more money.

Reading Timeline:

Happy reading and learning.

Hello there,

Well, I'm afraid to say that, not many book suggestions came forth this month. This means as previously mentioned, we will pick the book that came 2nd during our last book selection process.

This means, the book we will be reading for the next 3 weeks is going to be:

The audacity of Hope - Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream by Barack Obama.

The reading end date for this book is Sunday 31st August 2008.

Remember to check your local library or with friends to find out if they have a copy, before you set out to buy one.

Happy reading and I look forward to your comments and discussing the book.

The audacity of Hope - Book Introduction
Obama engages themes raised in his keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, shares personal views on faith and values and offers a vision of the future that involves repairing a "political process that is broken" and restoring a government that has fallen out of touch with the people.
