Book Selected for August Reading

Hello there,

Well, I'm afraid to say that, not many book suggestions came forth this month. This means as previously mentioned, we will pick the book that came 2nd during our last book selection process.

This means, the book we will be reading for the next 3 weeks is going to be:

The audacity of Hope - Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream by Barack Obama.

The reading end date for this book is Sunday 31st August 2008.

Remember to check your local library or with friends to find out if they have a copy, before you set out to buy one.

Happy reading and I look forward to your comments and discussing the book.

The audacity of Hope - Book Introduction
Obama engages themes raised in his keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, shares personal views on faith and values and offers a vision of the future that involves repairing a "political process that is broken" and restoring a government that has fallen out of touch with the people.

Regards
Remi Banjo

Only 3 pages into the prologue, I already find myself underlining and scribbling notes. 2 things have stood out for me
so far, (1) his motivation, (2) his acknowledgement of personal flaws ... I am particularly inspired with the idea
"that we have a stake in one another, and that what binds us together is greater than what drives us apart,
and that if enough people believe in the truth of that proposition and act on it, then we might not solve every
problem, but we can get something meaningful done". B. Obama - pg 2, The Audacity of Hope.

Very good initiative Miss Banjo. God bless you.
